Well you knew it was going to happen. Revenge of the Sith is now making its rounds on the bittorrent networks. If you don’t know how to find, don’t even ask in the comments. All I can tell you is that it is around. Go see the movie anyways in theaters.
Also does anyone know the reasoning behind it opening on Thursday? Is it just for midnight releases and what not?

1Because movies released on thursday evenings get much bigger “weekend box office” numbers by virtue of that extra few showings, and that’s what they like to use as an indicator for success.
Also probably helps reduce crowds for friday night.
May 16th, 2005 at 6:19 pm
2What kind of quality is the leak? Screener? Cam? TS?
I haven’t seen it show up on vcdquality.com.
May 16th, 2005 at 6:23 pm
3JC: Isn’t that why they release on Wednesdays though? Haven’t heard of a Thursday release in recent memory.
Jeremy: I know a “friend” who is getting it now so I will make sure “he” lets you know of the quality. I am guessing it is from a camcorder though due to the filesize.
May 16th, 2005 at 6:55 pm
4I doubt someone could of nabbed a screener,
but i would be impressed.
Who would want to watch it in anything but cinema experience for the first viewing though?
May 16th, 2005 at 7:28 pm
5Quite a feat, but viewing the leaked movie would ruin the whole Star Wars experience.
May 17th, 2005 at 4:31 am
6these torrents are absolute fakes.
can anyone confirm that they really have it?
May 17th, 2005 at 9:41 am
7after episodes 1+2 (excluding yoda fight of course) alli can say to this is: haa ha
May 17th, 2005 at 12:12 pm
8That is a good “friend.” I’ll bet “you’ll” have it the same moment “he” does.
May 19th, 2005 at 10:12 am
9They are not fakes, i can guarantee it. There is a workprint version floating about in some very obvious BT places.
But fuck DLing it, i’m going to see it at the cinema.
May 19th, 2005 at 12:21 pm
10the leak is 100% FAKE a friend downloaded it and it was a copy of the moive Hostage..do not download ANY STAR WARS EP III they are fakes…..
May 19th, 2005 at 2:18 pm
11My “friend” has found a copy that “he” can confirm IS real. So there are real copies of a screener that are floating around on the net. The only downside is a time indicator at the top of the video. It can be distracting at fist, but eventually you just stop noticing it.
May 19th, 2005 at 3:30 pm
12It would help Zoisite if your friend told us where it is.
May 19th, 2005 at 8:26 pm
13It is real! ItÂŽs a WorkPrint that was leaked!!
You can see some samples here…

May 19th, 2005 at 11:37 pm
14i grabbed it and its legit, has a massive timer in the top of the screen but is watchable.
im waiting to get tot he cinema to see it tho as i want a good experience watching this
May 20th, 2005 at 12:08 am
15it is legit
i watched it just now
May 20th, 2005 at 12:43 am
16It’s real and it’s a time code.
For those not in the know a time code is a production release so whilst the quality is very good you do get a clock running all the way through it.
Also this version may not be the same as the version currently in the cinema.
Anyway if you want it check out http://www.torrentreactor.net.
May 20th, 2005 at 12:45 am
17Link is here – http://www.torrentreactor.net/download.php?id=5099774
May 20th, 2005 at 4:29 am
18There is a real one out there guys, a friend of mine (cough)….just finished downloading it. It does have a time code as stated my Merlyn. Rumour is that this is the file that was actually leaked on wednesday. Supposedly there is another one out there, not sure if its a recording from inside the theater or not. Keep looking fellas its out there.
May 20th, 2005 at 9:49 am
19Apart from the Time Code the quality is brilliant.
There is another copy out there but thats a camcoder rip and the quality is pretty poor.
Time for someone to splice both together and make a non-timecode, good quality copy I feel…..
May 20th, 2005 at 6:39 pm
20how do i doload it plz help im confused
May 20th, 2005 at 11:33 pm
21I can honestly say that there is a real version doing the rounds. Its a workprint version and I downloaded it myself and the quality is great. Obtained it from irc as too many files on p2p or torrents are fakes
May 21st, 2005 at 6:27 am
22dsnn you need to download the bittorent client from here – http://www.bittorrent.com/dl/BitTorrent-4.0.1.exe
Once thats install click on this link and your download should start – http://www.torrentreactor.net/download.php?id=5099774
May 21st, 2005 at 9:59 pm
23The workprint is definetly out there, and definetly real. Quality of the DVD-R Versions are pretty good, stay away from the avi. It sucks. I Watched it, and enjoyed it, though I haven’t seen it in the theater, so I don’t know if it is the same cut that is playing. This movie will still make billions upon billions, theatrical release, and DVD release, not to mention merchandising (Lucas bread and butter), and I suspect a boxset will be in the works? To say people downloading a decent quality version of their movie is costing them millions, there full of shit. Most people who download it, have seen it in the theater or are going to. Probably more than once, and while wearing Star Wars gear. And those same people will buy the dvd. Despite downloading it. The quality will usually be better with the mass-produced dvd anyway. Lucas can suck my balls.
May 21st, 2005 at 10:58 pm
24is this a real copy? not just a fake?
May 21st, 2005 at 11:02 pm
25ok i finished downloading… but i cant open the file? i just have a bunch of files in the folder i saved to… :
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
May 22nd, 2005 at 2:30 am
26hey Starvin Marvin, where did you find it on IRC??
May 22nd, 2005 at 4:31 am
27ok, well im officially a bit past 10% on downloading, and so far everythings legit…I will hopefully post again to confirm if this IS real
May 22nd, 2005 at 7:22 am
28Right once you have downloaded it use your DVD Burning software to create a new DVD Movie and select the .VOB files as your source…thats it.
If you don’t have a DVD burner then you can open the .VOB files in Media Player (or Power DVD etc) but you will need a DVD decoder CODEC.
May 22nd, 2005 at 7:25 am
29P.S. you can get the DVD decoder here – ftp://iseb2.surgi.dote.hu/Microsoft/XP/DVDPack/DVDPack.msi
then you can open .VOB files in Media Player
May 22nd, 2005 at 7:27 am
30yeap ty :) this is not a fake lol
May 22nd, 2005 at 7:32 am
31omg it wont let me play….. can somone post a 3rd party VOB player? ;p
May 22nd, 2005 at 7:49 am
32VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
Each one has about an hour on it so open these files with something WinDVD or PowerDVD etc. WMP is a pain in the ass. Enjoy….
Also they are real videos!!!!!!!! not fakes and have near DVD quality so dont be fooled by the TV etc.
May 22nd, 2005 at 8:22 am

May 22nd, 2005 at 2:36 pm
35anyone have another way of downloading it….it says 21 days remaining on my download!!! :) I don’t think I can wait that long….hehe!!!
May 22nd, 2005 at 3:13 pm
36alienp4 what speed connection do you have ? I got it…ahem* sorry a friend got it down in about 8 hours and an 8Meg connection…even on 512k you should get it down in about 24 hours.
May 22nd, 2005 at 3:18 pm
37alienp4, if you are using XP (SP1 or 2) then there is a limit on the number of IP connections you can have (10 by default) this means if you are downloading from bittorent your speeds will be V slow.
Have a look at this for more info and a fix – http://www.mrtech.com/news/messages/4119.html
If you install the patch and then download then start the torrent download again it should carry on rather than start again.
May 22nd, 2005 at 4:12 pm
38I have a 5 mbps connection. I seed an avg of 30 kbs, but all i get is 9kb. Is this right? I just patched it, but I didn’t retstart my computer or Bittorrent. Should I try to restart?
May 22nd, 2005 at 6:18 pm
39Jeramiah, you have to reboot after applying the patch as it changes a system file.
Once you reboot you will get a message saying a windows system file has changed, just click on ignore.
May 22nd, 2005 at 6:22 pm
40what are some free VOB players that are fairly small files?
thanks
May 22nd, 2005 at 6:26 pm
41Jared,
to play any VOB file with Windows XP you need a DVD decoder (as it doesn’t come as part of XP).
I use PowerDVD as it comes with it’s own decoder, or you can simply install this file and then use Windows Media Player –
ftp://iseb2.surgi.dote.hu/Microsoft/XP/DVDPack/DVDPack.msi
Hope this helps
May 22nd, 2005 at 10:27 pm
42Hey has anyone got cought doing this? and can they track and come to your house and arest you?
thanks guys:)
May 23rd, 2005 at 4:06 pm
43> Hey has anyone got cought doing this? and
> can they track and come to your house and > arest you?
Only if you make the uszual stupid newbie mistakes like
1) Posting your email address on a public site like this – step forward cweidner@hotmail.com! I only stumbled across this site by accident, whereas George Lucas will doubtless have teams of lawyers tracking down anyone who is in any way involved.
2) Using Bit Torrent, or other peer-to-peer file-sharing systems. I can’t believe people still do this?!? It’s like walking into a store to steal some DVDs and announcing your intentions with a megaphone. I work for a major ISP in the UK and can tell you that it is extremely easy to find out who is using that kind of stuff – all you have to do is run a packet sniffer on the network for the specific ports these programs use. The only reason we don’t prosecute immediately is because it’s not worth our time and money – but if someone were to come along and make it worth our time and money… good morning Mr Lucas, how can I help you?
There is one completely anonymous, untraceable and remarkably easy way of downloading DVDs, Xbox/PS2 games, etc. and you will never read about it in the newspapers because “The Man” is terrified that it will become public knowledge. And I’m not going to tell you about it.
Now on to the next blogging site…
May 23rd, 2005 at 5:08 pm
44I’m just kidding none of this will happen and the program is called mute
May 23rd, 2005 at 5:25 pm
45Can you watch the movie before you fully download it?
May 23rd, 2005 at 6:30 pm
46How come it says the file is bigger than the DVD disc, when the DVD disc is only 1.5 gb?
May 23rd, 2005 at 6:31 pm
47That is fucked up. My whole movie is flipped horizontally and vertically

60andrew, you’re a fool.
May 25th, 2005 at 7:40 am
61i was wondering if it would be possible to remove the timers from the top using software, any ideas anyone
May 25th, 2005 at 7:52 am
62Well you could try this website:
http://www.movietickets.com
It will cost you around $9.50 to $10.00 each time you want to watch it with out the timers, and you will have to drive to a theater of your choice but it is well worth it for the extra quality.
Seriously… I don’t think there is a way to do that… it is more than likely part of the image not a seperate layer.
May 25th, 2005 at 8:22 am
63easily found on irc on undernet servers in numerous warez irc channels just type:
/list *warez* in your irc client and goto the channel with the most users and you’ll find it in most of the highly populated channels
May 25th, 2005 at 9:17 am
64heheha yes it is possible, however you can only replace them with a black box. I’m having a go at replacing them with a cam rip it’s just proving a bit tricky at the moment.
Andrew – If you download the .vob files all you need is some DVD burning software on the MAC
confuzed – the tracker may have been brought down, I’ll have a look tonight and advise
May 25th, 2005 at 9:27 am
65YOu can find it here
http://www.madtorrent.com/find.php/sith/
May 25th, 2005 at 6:08 pm
66uhhh. this is probably a very iodic question, but is this legal? cuz it’s not from a camcorder in the theatre, it’s profesional? And no, i am not a n00b.
May 25th, 2005 at 9:12 pm
67ok u n-0-0-b’s first of all the experiance is the best at the movies, but, we all like the free experience… BitTorrent will definetly catch u, 10 million fine, is that worth it ask urself?
May 26th, 2005 at 9:56 am
68yoda. Piracy is Piracy doesn’t matter where the movie came from. Unless the company who made the film release it into the public domain it’s illegal and very naughty indeed.

November 13th, 2005 at 9:52 pm
105Where can I find out when this was posted?
January 17th, 2006 at 1:38 pm
106I found the timestamp version, and all 3 files are intact and valid. I’m preparing to seed the 3 files, as I have found it broken into 3 distinct parts (1, 2, and 3). In addition, I’m working on a DVD image, and I’ll seed that torrent when I finish it.
The DVD image is being created with Nero 6 Ultra Edition, and yes, unfortunately, it’s the version with the timestamp. Although, I do HIGHLY recommend that you go and get the actual DVD. I did the same with Corpse Bride, and I’m looking to buy it when it comes out, simply because I want the real version.
If you’d like to be kept up to date on the developments, drop a line here, I’ll be monitoring it.
Until then, ja mata!
