Missed last night’s season premieres of The Simpson, Family Guy and American Dad? Well have no worries because this site has the torrents for the shows along with many other of your favorite TV shows. Hopefully they can stay up and if so this is a must bookmark resource.
They claim that the shows are captured in HDTV, but since I have yet to see them I cannot vouch for it. Will be interesting to see if I notice any quality changes on my LCD.
I didn’t get a chance to catch the Simpsons or American Dad because I was playing pool and drinking beer, but I am downloading them now and afterwards will be sharing my thoughts in the 350th Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad thread in the forums.

1I’ve been downloading tv shows off there for a while now and I can vouch that they are HDTV. Definitely a good source for recently missed episodes or archiving.

2Oops, I should clarify that they were captured from HDTV. Of course, they are the original file. File sizes usually hover around 175MB for a “30 minute” show and 350MB for an “hour show”.

3CRAP!! LOL Should read…
“…they are NOT the original file.”

4new to the whole torrents thing. tivo didn’t record the Simpsons 350th last night. i tried to get to your link (btefnet) with no luck so i tried torrentspy and mininova but nothing comes up under “Simpsons 350th” or under the episode name. how do i go about finding it when i don’t know what it’s called?
May 2nd, 2005 at 11:40 am
5You couldn’t get to the site or you couldn’t download the torrent? The site link works.
If you couldn’t get the torrent you need to get download the client and that should get you going.

6http://www.btefnet.net/ page won’t load in either Safari or Firefox. i know how to FIND torrents in general, but i can’t seem to find a torrent specifically of last night’s Simpsons episode; i’ve tried “Simpsons 350″ and the episode name “Don’t Fear The Roofer” but no hits on either mininova or torrentspy.
i use Azureus as my BT client and has worked fine in the past.

7just out of curiosity, i googled torrent:simpsons and hit ‘i’m feeling lucky’… not exactly what i had in mind.

8American Dad was amazingly awful. It’s like a craptacular version of Family Guy. The wife’s face freaks me out.

the bittorrent scene doesn’t seem to care about taking time for labels and episode names. instead, they use seasons and episode numbers. in this case, look for something called “Simpsons.hdtv.lol.16×20″. That’s “Show.Format.Group.Season x Episode”. Most every TV show available follows that or a nearby format.

10Thanks for posting about btefnet! I haven’t been able to watch a couple of shows, and now I can catch up. Sweet!
I’m curious, but how quick do the most recent shows usually come up?
May 12th, 2005 at 11:47 pm
11btefnet.com looks like it is having issues. worked 6 hrs ago, now loos like the domain nnregistration has been hijacked by vultures.
May 13th, 2005 at 6:08 am

May 15th, 2005 at 9:40 am
17The easiest way to find any torrent is at http://isohunt.com/ if your looking for simpsons a search for “simpsons season no.x episode no.” will find any episode you want, the episdoe you are all refering to is 16×19 so just search “simpsons 16×19″
May 15th, 2005 at 4:24 pm
18Damn, Btefnet was probably the best site for daily TV torrents…anyone know what happened?
May 15th, 2005 at 10:47 pm
19Dyl BTEfnet WAS the best Torrent site, and it’s very sad to see it shut down. Hopefully it’s not shut forever. I am sure there will always be a way to download our fav tv shows with new ideas. :)

20hey guys if your looking for a place to download TV torrents use http://www.mininova.org its pretty good, hope u guys find it useful.
May 17th, 2005 at 3:47 am
21Check out http://alaseeri.net/torrents
Great for TV shows – better than btefnet..
May 17th, 2005 at 6:50 am
22Try looking in other places besides the web.
Think about the name of the site you’re talking about.. btefnet.net > BTEfnet > BT Efnet > #BT Efnet > #BT @ Efnet..
IRC anyone? Efnet network.. #BT..
Go there and get the stuff. at least the very latest torrents.
May 18th, 2005 at 8:34 pm
23btefnet was sued by the MPAA
search btefnet on google and the zdnet article is like the 3nd link
May 19th, 2005 at 5:40 am
24The Alaseeri site was awesome, hopefully they won’t be sued as well. Now I get to DL all the shows that I’ve missed :D

June 9th, 2005 at 11:47 am
31the nice thing about btefnet was that it had an rss feed. mytvtorrents doesn’t have that and I can’t get that from irc either. Any ideas?
July 25th, 2005 at 10:32 pm
32As the topic says it all on real #BT on EFnet:
It’s dead, Jim!| thanks everybody | Don’t forget your towel | No it’s not our website, don’t pay for kazaa tutorials’
mininova, piratebay and few other ‘public’ trackers have all (or almost all) current tv series one may need.
Don’t go to ‘new’ btefnet website – its all scam. peace.
July 26th, 2005 at 3:46 am

September 11th, 2005 at 12:11 pm
34Im interested in HDTV stuff, but why are they encoded in 350(ish) lines, doesnt allow to get the most from our equipment. I guess obvious is file size, but i’d die to get some of this stuff in 720p….. Im sure there is a reason – look forward to hearing one. Thx

June 2nd, 2006 at 1:59 am
44Instant starrrr :(
June 6th, 2006 at 10:53 pm
45They are NOT true HDTV, there is no way in hell that true HDTV stuff will be available for download, no-one has the resources. A single hour TV show would be like 21,600MB (if file plays at 6,000kbps). I thought downloading 4.5GB was harsh, but 5 times that amount for a TV show you can get @ 350MB? No way! I go to http://www.tvtorrrents.com and I really like them, I signed up before the new rules came in effect and I don’t have 0GBC to start with.
June 18th, 2006 at 10:48 pm
46errr…has anyone tried putting 2 and 2 together and saying…. hmmm I want TV shows…and I want to download torrent files….maybe TVTORRENTS.COM GEESH! :) This is one of the better sites for any TV shows out there. Enjoy.
June 18th, 2006 at 10:49 pm
47another good one is mininova.org for anything although they take awhile to download, but well worth the wait. And use btbeat.com for music.
June 18th, 2006 at 10:53 pm
48And JoJo the files are recorded from HDTV and most have 5.1 surround sound usually around 750mb…quality is much much better than a typical 350mb avi. They also have true HDTV DVD’s whatever the hell those are called.. Quality is superb and they are 8GB and up. I’ve even seen blu-ray discs out there…so PFFT!
June 18th, 2006 at 10:55 pm
49You guys need to make some friends and get into a private tracker… these sites have 0-day files, tv shows are uploaded within minutes of airing, always lots of seeders, no bullsh*t with the MPAA so far and the reliability of the files is great. I’ve gotten games/etc on there a week or more before they even hit the shelves. don’t ask me for the invites to ‘em becuz i’m not handing them out.
June 19th, 2006 at 11:02 am

September 20th, 2006 at 12:59 pm
53I’m also still lookin for Boy meets world
September 24th, 2006 at 7:41 pm
54you could do an xvid rip of hdtv (1080i / 720p) for a 42min tv show it would be about 2/3GB in size. I’ve seen 1080i rips of hdtv movies in X264 codec they are about 5GB but the site has gone. in other words an xvid HDTV movie can fit on a standard DVD+R in same way a SDTV movie can fit on a CDR
October 7th, 2006 at 12:07 am
55@ipod your a fucking freak no where did i mention the word pedophile in my post earlier there are you blind or were you born with no eyes dork.
January 21st, 2007 at 6:37 am
56gosh I need instant star torrents too..pls anyone knows where 2 get them?
February 8th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
57instant star can be found at the-n.com under the click; unfortunately they didn’t provide all the episodes
that’s where youtube comes in; someone has been uploading them just in time for the new season :D
in the search box type: instant star
for instance, episode 3 in season 2 is titled ‘i fought the law’; at youtube try: instant star fought law
enjoy :P
August 31st, 2008 at 1:12 pm
58Most Instant Star episodes can be found on mininova.org
