Comments on: Using Your iPod With Winamp

use winamp to manage my ipod because itunes does not launch on my pc, anyway, everything’s been working fine until today. I went to “my computer” and i right clicked on the icon IPOD:E and i clicked eject, thinking that it will only eject my ipod from the computer, but it’s like it removed the ipod database from the computer, thinking that it would resolve the issue i restored my ipod, and then i went back to winamp only to fine that my ipod no longer is recognized by it…and i cant put back my songs on my ipod. If anyone out there knows about computers and electronics, please tell me what i did wrong and how i can fix it. Thanks

dude i have windows 98 and a 4gb hardrive so my computer is a very old POS idk how to download the plugin and if i did how do i get the thing running? im me on aim at bigc072005 or email me at bigc072004@gmail.com cuz i will not remember posting this and i need extreme help i jus got a 30gb ipod for $100

What about using it without syncing?
My computer has not just my music on it, but other people’s aswell, and I don’t want to end up with all of it on there.

Is there a way you can use this to just copy certain files (or artists) to your iPod.

Hate itunes and like the winampplug. Uploading works fine. The only problem i’ve got is ejecting the ipod. First I also thougt it was the itunes/winamp combination, butt reinstalled my comp and still have the problem.

Does someone has an solution or is someone familiar with this problem?

Its really good. I’ve only ever used this, because my music was already organised in Winamp and I don’t like iTunes.

The only thing is *don’t run iTunes and this plugin at the same time*. It will corrupt all your files (I found this out the hard way :P).

As for ease of use, it is literally plug in, press ‘sync’ and eject.

Its interesting how, when wired features something it’s suddenly all over the internet (evern though this has been out for agggeess). :)

I can finally get rid of iTunes! Just got my iPod and this will solve many a problem with me.

I downloaded the plugin and tried it out. It works just like it says it does. The only thing I had a problem with was the fact that iTunes automatically starts and recognizes the iPod when I plug it into the computer. So when I opened WinAmp and (after trying everything out) tried to eject the iPod from Winamp, it wouldn’t let me. I think it only had to do with the fact that iTunes was still using it, so if you plan on using WinAmp to manage your iPod, be sure to turn off that automatic recognition in iTunes.

Yes, only thing I’ve ever used to fill my iPod. Works perfectly. Highly Recommended. Also is over a year old. Not new news :P
