yes it work because the validity test localized in /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg/Contents/OSInstall.dist
sheache “bad machines” and the ipod is not one
the other solution is to creat a disk image and modify the script change return false by return true and burn the image and thats all

How about using a home network or network cable or firewire to transfer the Tiger (DVD) installer from one Mac to the Mac that only has a CD slot? Would that work with a disk image?
