Harrison then confirmed that past-gen, Nintendo-created titles will indeed be downloadable for free.
This is a clever move by Nintendo: regardless of the final power of Revolution and the frequency of new titles, Nintendo knows that its loyal fans will cry tears of joy over a free service that lets them download previous Nintendo classics straight out of the box.
This is what gives Nintendo a fighting chance in the next round of the console wars. And now that it is confirmed that the games will be free I think they will at least take second. Great move by Nintendo.

I looked this up after happily reading this news, and it seems that trashy MSN news site just jumped to conclusions from some very vague things the Nintendo guy said.
There is no certainty that most Nintendo classics will be free downloads.
I don’t think that will give Nintendo a good chance on this generation. We already can play any Nintendo classic we want to for free.
Franqly, one of the reasons Nintendo is so popular is because you can currently get all their games for free and play them on your PC, except the Gamecube ones of course.
Playing on your computer with the keyboard (or joystick emulation) is completely different experience than sitting on your couch with a controller and big screen.
Hmm… agreed.
i hope ninty become number 1 again (doubt it)
