A nice side-by-side comparison of all three consoles. Not that many details concerning Nintendo’s Revolution, but hopefully that changes over the next couple of months. Specs never tell the real story about the success of a game console, but as a geek it’s always fun to look at what is under the hood.
Give me a comparison of launch titles and then we can talk.

3Good article. Looks like this site got some good content. How do you pronounce it “pleeke”?

4Other than blue-rey, there’s not that much of a *noticable* difference between Xbox and PS…well, nothing that good salsa can’t cover anyway. And why even bother comparing Nintendo when if you’re just gonna write ‘unknown’ or ‘undertermined’ on every column?
June 7th, 2005 at 3:32 pm
5Yeah if nintendo would get off there butts and release more info. I guess the comparison is a living document so I suspect they will add more info as it comes available.

7nintendo revolution is going to be a piece of living shit. Just look at the fucking controller.
October 26th, 2005 at 11:46 am
8Kai…Just becouse it is different doesnt mean shit..watch the nintendo commercials, the new controller has definite possibilities. The new controller will make a much more interactive gaming experience and has an optional joystick. I say give it a chance.

9The two biggest diffrences i see in the Xbox 360 and the PS3 is the RAM and the CPU. The Cell CPU (ps3) is fully programmable has an insane floating point and from the sound of it is going to be capable of amazing things. And with the RAM the ps3 has one 256 stick at 3.2GHZ the other at 700MHZ, with Xbox 360 having 512 @ 700MHZ. Most game pc’s are under 700mhz, mine is only 433MHZ being an AMD. I see PS3 as the superior machine in terms of hardware, but who knows in terms of content Nintendo could be the most fun to play :P

10The nintendo revolution is the best you smurfers
November 29th, 2005 at 3:22 pm
11The revolution shouldnt be judged by the gamecubes poor excuse of “gaming hardware” Plus the revo can dowload games online. it has all the capacities of hte xbox and ps3. you can play all the classics.

14ok so, about the games, there’s twilight princess (which looks better than the Ocarina) final fantasy, metroid prime, aaaaaaaaaaand prbbly animal crossing, and aneways, whoevr kai is, the controller is incredible, cuz they have the option for a joystick, and old style gaming, so that beats the ps3 or xbox360, and it’ll be betr to have cuz of it’s size, they say it’s a little larger than it’s cd’s, and cuz u’ll only need that to play all ur other nintendo games-the wireless is gonna be sick, and the color only adds to the flare, and the most important thing is that Nintendo’s taking their time on this, unlike microsoft that got it out be4 the holidays, so it proves that its gonna be good, and that all the info isn’t final, there’s still roo for change, i personally think that the only thing wrong with the revolution is that there’s no x, y, or z buttons on the controller, dulling down the play.
P.S. the controller has this thing where if you do a slice motion, and the game has the option , it’ll slice.

16i think the controllers on the revo is a bunch of bull crap im better with two hands anyway
January 22nd, 2006 at 9:58 pm
17besides with a smaller controller that means less buttons and less combinations for tricks and what not

18Nintendo Revolution is going to revolve your world. Who knows what brilliant things they have in store, but I know for a fact that Nintendo Revolution has at least twice the storage and graphics capability as PS3.(Allright I just lied about the storage and graphics capability, but I really don’t know anything about MHz and GBTs and googoo bytes.) The point is Nintendo rocks and every other system sucks. Especially Xbox 360. “MARIO RULES”

19Alright I’m a little “iffy” about the new conroller idea with what looks to be a tv remote. I don’t fance playing with one hand or using the other corresponding shell-style counter part meaning two controllers one in each hand. Im hoping and betting that Nintendo will eventuall come out with a standard two hand controller when they realize that the new model is stupid. But who knows?

20Enough about stupid game consules. Video games are not supposed to be this big of a deal. You know what, we all need to get out and take walk in the park, climb a tree or fly a kite. All this “Tech-talk” is making me nautious. You know what, we should talk about something else like MUSIC! I just want to say that Coldplay rocks. Matchbox twenty has some pretty good stuff. Oh and some of the oldies like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC rock. If your into music and tired of crappy gaming than post a comment about some of your favorite bands. “Dare to be different.”
February 21st, 2006 at 7:17 pm
21If you like bland music like Coldplay and Matchbox 20 you would love Dave Matthews Band, they practically defined the bland alternative soft-rock genre.
Anyways I agree, this site has degraded in to a fanboy site for gaming consoles and handhelds, and any product that Sony craps out. If anyone has a suggestion of a better RSS feed to put on my homepage please let me know, something like an alternative Slashdot that catches stories that don’t make the /. cut. Not a “ZOMG Sony is coming out with a $900 console with 328 types of DRM that will only work with your Sony TV and play BMG Music out your Sony sound system and interfaces directly with your Sony buttplug!” website like this.

22Coldplay is not bland. You should be ashamed of yourself John. Coldplay is simply beautiful. Their unique style and awesomeness blend perfectly together forming the ultimate tunes. Their music is rich and it feeds the soul. You obviously haven’t given them the time of day. They have so many good songs on all their albums.(Parachutes, Rush Of Blood To The Head, and X&Y) I demand that you buy all three of those albums, listen to every song, fall in love with their music, and report back to me afterward. And Matchbox twenty rocks too. I also like “Seal”. He’s pretty good. Lifehouse is good but not their new stuff. Get their first album. That’s good. So anyway peoples please list more of your favorite music for debate.
“Long live Coldplay”

23I’m a big Matchbox 20 fan, but I won’t deny that their music is of the “lightly strumming on a guitar and singing forgettable lyrics that will appeal to as many people as possible” genre. I’m not sure I can forgive Coldplay enough after writing “Clocks” to actually listen to or download some of their other stuff, but if I find some on the campus network I might give it a play.
I’m not too hip on what the new hotness in 2006 is, but in 2005 Bloc Party, Louis XIV, Ladytron, Danger Doom (MF Doom and Danger Mouse), and Armor for Sleep were all tearing it up.
March 12th, 2006 at 9:33 pm
24You guys are stupid.
Coldplay and Matchbox 20 are for Yuppie Fucks.
And most Yuppie Fucks play Xbox games.

25Nintendo revolution rulz! just look at the enldless possibilties of the innovative controller! Well, as for those “foul-mouthed” who said those horrible things about the revolution, it is gonna change the way we plays games… For a fact, the DS outsold PSP around the world! that means that graphics is not the ruling factor here… As for XBOX, it is a rookie in the gaming industry… (no offence XBOX fans)it is not as old as Sony or Nintendo… (however, Microsoft sure is a BIG thing)but who cares about XBOX live? At least nintendo is attracting more fans by the free DS Wifi service! come on, they had ONE million DS players online in just four months! Nintendo is a well known company… it makes big cash so it won’t give uo this industry… So stay tuned everyone, we need to know the release date!

28he Cell has only one PPE to the IBM’s Xenon’s three, which means that developers will have to cram all their game control, AI, and physics code into at most two threads that are sharing a very narrow execution core with no instruction window. Not forgeting that the cell processor was only produced for multimedia, not gaming. While the xenon CPU was made for specificaly gaming.
Not to mention the custom ATI graphics with 24 pixel pipelines in the 360 is far better than the RSX has 12 pixel pipelines in the PS3 which only just beats the 7800gtx(ive heard),and yes even though the RSX has 50mhs clockspeed more than the 360 it wont make that much of a difference as the unified architecture in the custom ATi graphics card will aproach the way it process ts data differently as it uses vector 5’s while the PS3 uses vector 4’s
.Plus a graphics card better than the RSX, nvidia said will be available shortly after the PS3 launches so you could have better graphics than a PS3 but for your PC! So much for ‘new technology’.
