Rumor has it that Sony is planning to cut the price of its PS2 console to counter the release of the XBox 360 in November. Some sources claim the price cut will lower the cost of the console to £60 or £70 in England, and as low at $100 in the U.S. Read more »

WaterProof iPod Case
If you are an iPod Mini owner and want something to really protect it for a vast range of outdoor uses, take a look at the H20 Audio SV-iMini, which claims to protect the iPod Mini from water up to 10ft and also protect against extreme impact. After my battery of tests, the H20 Audio SV-iMini case delivered on its promise of protecting against water and impact. The design was more functional than elegant and I had issues with the headset. But if you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you’ll want a case that can take a beating, so that your iPod Mini doesn’t. The case is availabe at Amazon for about Read more »
Geeks Gather for Woodstock-style Conference
I really wish I was at this conference, it sounds like a lot of fun. I am not a hacker by any means, but I am sure I could learn a thing or two from being at such a conference about security, and whatnot. There are hundreds of tents on the hot and soggy campground, but this isn’t your ordinary summertime outing, considering that it includes workshops with such titles as “Politics of Psychedelic Research” or “Fun and Mayhem with RFID.” This is the three-day “What The Hack” convention, a self-styled computer-security conference dealing such issues as digital passports, biometrics and cryptography. Borrowing heavily from Woodstock and the more professionalized Read more »

Until now, these were only available as part of the default installation of Windows Longhorn Beta Releases. Now you can download them seperately (while it lasts) for your viewing pleasure. A side note that this is not an official Microsoft release, so grab ‘em while they are available. Read more »

Windows Vista Release Slips Farther Away
A Microsoft Exec. slipped up during a recent meeting on the Microsoft Campus, revealing that the release of Vista, Microsofts Next Major OS release, has been pushed back to late 2006. HP Drops Apple iPod
News.com is reporting that HP has decided to stop selling its HP-branded Apple iPods and iPod Minis. “We do remain committed to our digital-entertainment strategy,” HP spokesman Ross Camp said Friday. “We decided that reselling the iPod does not fit within that strategy.” Does this mean that HP will be developing its own digital-music player? The deal with Apple includes a clause that prevents HP from selling or manufacturing any other digital music players until August 2006. Read more »

According to this forum thread on PearPC.net, the install DVD has leaked to a major torrent network. As the NFO file suggests, the OS will not install on any normal PC. 10th Planet
I thought they already found a 10th planet in our solar system, but it seems I am wrong, as most popular news site are reporting a mass, larger than Pluto in our solar system as the tenth planet. David Rabinowitz told the BBC News website: “It has been a remarkable day and a remarkable year. 2003 UB313 is probably larger than Pluto. It is fainter than Pluto, but three times farther away. “Brought to the same distance from the Sun as Pluto, it would be brighter. So today the world knows that Pluto is not unique. There are other Plutos, just farther out in the solar system where they are Read more »
