On this day, in 1969, the first man landed on the moon.
In honor of the first manned Moon landing, which took place on July 20, 1969, weve added some NASA imagery to the Google Maps interface to help you pay your own visit to our celestial neighbor. Happy lunar surfing.
They have even plotted out the landing sites of the Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 missions. Zoom into the closest setting to see what the moon is really made of.

1NASA would have us believe they landed on the moon. Guess fuel sensors worked better 30 years ago.
