   This has happened a few times for me, with Google deciding to show me some sample results from Google Image Search at the top of the results list. Nice little feature…

   If they do change, I’m glad it’s for something closer to their original layout, when they changed the search methods to the top of the textbox I was a bit disapointed.

   Is it a new design or just an old design that appears here and there?

   I recall someone having a similar looking find but when they went back to look at the internet archive, it was an old design showing through.

   Looking for the link.

   I like the redesigned one, but I hope they wouldn’t actually enlarge the logo like that.

   The reason you sometimes see strange version is because google roolout test version on to single servers within their cluster. This is to get real usage information about a design I read it in their blog as far as I can remember.

   I think it’s actually the PREVIOUS design of Google, which is sometimes striking back.
   It happened to me lately, too :)

    Yeah, looks like the old version of Google to me. It was around about a year ago- can’t believe people don’t remember it.
