MS will be launching two new devices to support their Media Center version of Windows XP. The first of the new devices will be a 3-in-1 control center, expected to be innovatively named “Microsoft Remote Keyboard for Windows XP Media Center Edition” which will supposedly incorporate the functionality of a mouse, keyboard and remote into a single unit. The second of the new offerings is a bundle targeted specifically at photography entusiasts and comprises of a single unit which offers mouse and keyboard functionality and a selection of digital imaging software which will most likely be tailored to the capabilities of the remote. Having shipped 1.4 million media center enabled PC’s in 2004, Microsoft daringly aim to increase this to 20 million by 2008 and have stated that the new devices will be available by mid-September for a RRP of $104.95.
