The header pretty much sums it up. Sharp Corp. has developed an optical disc capable of storing 100 gigs of space based on Blue Ray technology. I wonder how much it will cost. Currently discs that store about 8 gigs of data go for more than $6 a pop, so I’m thinking around $70 or so. I’ll just stick to my external hard drives.

1Well, some Computer shows charge about $40 USD for 100GB HardDrives, so, it might be a little cheaper than $70.

2You can’t just estimate the price of a blank media solely based on price/gig ratio of another form of media. For example, what if we compared it to regular dvdr? 100pack dvdr(4.7gig) is around $50, which comes out to about 10cents per gig–or $10 for the same disk you estimate to be $70.

3I’m not estimating, I’m assuming / guessing.
