IBM won't sell them the patent for the two button mouse. Ergo, it can't be sold, by them. This friend tells me that Steve Jobs' car lacks a front license plate. Despite numerous tickets for this infraction, Mr. Jobs prefers the clean look to the functional (read: legal) license plate. Apply the same to Apple's design. Clean. Sleek. Pretty even. Not always the most functional, tho.
