ThinkSecret is reporting that Apple’s consumer level laptop, the iBook, will be receiving an update very soon (possibly later today).

In April, DigiTimes reported that laptop manufacturer Quanta had landed a contract to manufacture 14.1-inch widescreen iBooks. The publication added that fellow manufacturer Asustek had snagged a deal to produce 15.4-inch widescreen iBooks in 2006.
