XBox360 In The Wild

So this kid on a Gamespot forum starts talking smack about how he has played an XBox360 at his house. Then, he backs it up with pics.

Now, he is begging the forum admins to take the thread down. Apparently, his dad worked for Microsoft and was able to bring a development unit home. Unfortunately, his kid had never heard of NDA.

Here is the original Gamespot thread, although he has already edited out the pics.

Uhm, if that pic has been taken by him you might be violating his copyright…
So, maybe you might want to remove it before his (or his father’s company’s) lawyer asks you to… ;)

  2. Griffith says:

His father works for Microsoft, yet he has to play the console on the floor and on an a (what seems to be) cheap TV? That’s odd…

  3. Griffith: If his *step*father *just recently* began working at Microsoft, it’s quiet possible that (a) he has a new house and (b) he doesn’t actually live at that place. Both would explain the situation.

  4. Hyp says:

Just because his father works for Microsoft doesn’t mean he is rich.

  5. AkaXakA says:

Chris is right, you’d do the kid an enormous favour in not posting that pic…

  6. David says:

Poor kid… Hopefully he does not recieve too much backlash for it.

  7. Griffith says:

I’m just saying it’s odd, I’m not questioning the veracity of the picture. There are hundreds of possible explanations for it, *it’s a joke people*, lighten up.

My take: Microsoft XBox Division Marketing Tactic…. aka ‘Viral Marketing’ ala ‘ourcolony.net’, ‘halo bees’, ‘anthrax in the mail’, ‘wmds in iraq’, etc… and now ‘xbox 360 in the wild’. Well, this got yer mind off PS3/Revolution or even PS2/Cube for that matter right? Then this ad is successful.
