PC Components are using more and more total power as we double up on everything. Eventhough each component might use less power than the generation before it, some machines are begining to tax the lower end power supplies. Add to that the need of some PC users to have the latest, greatest, fastest components, Enermax is releasing a new power supply that will push out 1000 Watts of power to the computer.
To give you an idea of how much power this is, a single 7800GTX, currently the fastest consumer card on the market, draws around 285 Watts of power under full load conditions.
Enermax, those crazy power supply dudes have gone power mad with their latest bit of kit, the Galaxy. Set to be available in the UK from around October, the Galaxy is the first PSU to the retail market claiming to be able to deliver 1000W yes, you read that right, 1000W.

11000 watts = mid sized window unit air conditioner x 8+ hours a day = less beer = not cool.
I hope I never get hooked into any games that my mobility radeon can’t handle.
