GMail Drive creates a virtual filesystem on top of your Google Gmail account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your Gmail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. GMail Drive literally adds a new drive to your computer under the My Computer folder, where you can create new folders, copy and drag’n'drop files to.
With the size of GMail accounts increasing so much lately (mine is currently at 2.5GB+), this could be pretty useful for moving files around.

8It would be great if it could be mapped as a standard XP drive letter. That way a script can be used to copy info to and from Gdrive. I would like to sync some of “my documents” to gdrive so I can access them when I am away from my computer.

12This is not GDrive. That’s the name of Google’s next project. This one is called GMail Drive.

13google for ‘gmailfs’. It’s a virtual filesystem using python and fuse that lets you mount your gmail account as a filesystem. It really works. I have 6 accounts which makes for nearly 15GB of storage.

15I tested it for a while, then realize it is an inherently not viable product. I don’t know why somebody would create a product that is doomed to be killed by Google. So you map files to Google emails, how can you actually map a big video file to gmail? It is not possible to copy a 1GB file to gmail. For real online storage service, go with DriveHQ.com. They also offer 1GB free storage, with Drive mapping and FTP, etc. much better than this one.
