Lifehut has the coolest solution to semi-automating backups of WordPress, a popular blogging/cms application using Gmail, and some great plugins.
The idea behind this posting is to show you how to use a WordPress Plugin that can do database backups of your website/blog and have the backup automatically emailed to a specified email address, your Gmail as an example. Sure, emailing a backup is not revolutionary, but the idea behind this is to save time and to have a location of those files at ALL times.
I should impliment this solution and see how useful it is. If anyone does it before me, and it works or does not work, let me know.

1Thanks for the link Dave, I appreciate it.
I have tested it and so far it has worked for me. It appears to do it at 12:00 (am I believe) every day.
Chris J. Davis (www.chrisjdavis.org) has his setup for like 3 different email addresses (for extra extra security)but I am not sure how he pulls that off with this 1 plugin.
I will ask.

2Great idea…I’ve been up a creek a time or two with a corrupt database only to have a guru at the WP forums help me out. This saves me the hassel of backing it up myself!
