Webzine eVolt has releaunched after some time away from active publishing. So what’s new? They have moved off of their old home-grown CMS and are running on Drupal now.
Now we’re running on Drupal, we benefit from security updates, fixes and new functionality, leaving us to concentrate on evolt-specific bits. Finding time to work on the evolt site is often hard for our all-volunteer workforce, so this is obviously tremendously helpful, and as evolt.org is all about exchanging skills and experiences with our fellow web developers, this very much feels right, as well as useful.
They are also running on a CSS-based design that is seperated from the code as a theme-based design, making it easier to change when needed.
Hard to believe that eVolt 2.0 stood the test of time as well as it did, serving the needs of the site since December of 2000.
