Much of the extensions work, just by changing the 'max-version' entry in the 'install.rdf' file in the extension xpi package. However, two extensions very useful to me are not working:
MenuX and File title.
(Why 'File title' is not a default feature in firefox is beyond me)
Hope they will come out with updates soon.

Btw, my greatest disappointment with this firefox beta is that RSS handling in is still very poor! It even got worse!
--They moved the icon up to the address bar for no reason, and now, without submenu, you cannot choose what kind of RSS you want to link to in case there's more than one in the page;
--all the rss live bookmarks are still always updated without my consent as I launch the browser (when I am on a slow connection this is a nightmare);
--there are no options at all for RSS in general, and the about:config entries for RSS are still useless;
--there's no easy way to 'create live bookmark', via a button (you still have to go to bookmark manager every time!!! this is, like, crazy!!) and you cannot import OPML! Thunderbird can, c'mon! (But also Thunderbird has incredible flaws in handling RSS, like that you have to forcefully update all the RSS at once)

The workaround does work :)

Some extensions require you set the value to 1.0 or 1+, and some extensions just won't work at all.

The extensions don't work, nor does the work-around Rowan mentioned, not the program itself.

1.5 Beta is pretty good. Faster, less memory leak, moveable tabs. :) I love it. The good thing is that I am not dependant on any plugins, so it is great for me.

I've a small blog entry that will help you get those extensions working anyway: <a href="http://www.pixelcarnage.com/browsers/extensions_in_deer_park" rel="nofollow">Extensions In Deer Park</a>
