Microsoft Gadgets

This has to be fake…there is no way Microsoft could be this crazy.

Have you ever wondered how new technologies get developed in Microsoft? Wonder how a cool idea goes from incubation to release? Well, we’re excited to announce that we’ve started a blog designed to bring you closer to the process with the Gadgets blog and we’re kicking it off at the PDC.

What are Gadgets? Gadgets are a new category of mini-application designed to provide information, useful lookup, or enhance an application or service on your Windows PC or the Web. Examples might include a weather gadget running on your desktop or on your homepage, an RSS Gadget that pulls in your favorite feeds, or an extension of a business application providing just-in-time status on the pulse of your business.

When they want a technology…they just go for it.

Why do you think it’s fake? This was one of their announcements at the PDC. And it makes sense to try to take market share away from Konfabulator (Yahoo) and to compete with a unique feature of OS X.

  2. Griffith says:

Apple also takes some ideas with Microsoft but howcome when big M does it everyone complains?

I’m not a Microsoft fan, but if they have this much market share they must be doing something right and Apple has been around for as long as I can remember also.

Microsoft is doing alot of things right,

but mostly on the business side,

their marketing strategies is the main reason for their current hold of the market.

I am sure if apple or linux had a strong marketing campaign like theirs, and started when they did they could easily be as succesful.

This is definitly real. Take a look at who registered the domain, microsoftgadgets.com…

Actually If you want to know where microsoft got gadgets from visit http://www.Stardock.com…they‘ve been doing it for 10 years. And since the introduction of the partnership between konfabulator and yahoo for yahoo’s new yahoo! widgets, Stardock was out numbered in the battle for desktop enhancements, because let’s face it, yahoo’s a supreme advertisement domain. So the people of Stardock and Microsoft have teamed up with the idea to take back the desktop customization area.
