1Up’s Review of Doom: The Movie

I’ve ready many funny critics, but this one had me laughing from the first paragraph to the last.

In short, it’s really, really, REALLY bad, and if you don’t want to bother reading the review I’ll just go ahead and tell you they gave it a 2.9 (out of 10).

And now for one of my favorite quotes from that review:

the grand finale of Doom is about as arousing as picking your nose, and a lot less stimulating.

I recall when the first rumors of the movie were coming out there was a upsurge of anger from the doom fan base.

Everyone was pissed, of course, that they had taken out the whole premise of the game- hell- and replaced it. I mean, WTF? Let’s take another popular game-turned movie – Halo (which I predict will be amazing) and hypothetically change the premise. We have a Master-Chief who has to defeat, uhhh, some evil scientist who created a weather machine. see? not so good.

Iâm just loyal to a game that affected my childhood so much.
