Step one – Start UMD Emulator 0.77 and select GTALC. Ensure demo UMD is in slot but door is open.

If you wish to play GTALC as an ISO on 1.5 from a memory stick, either from a backed up UMD or dowloaded ISO use the follwoing

Device Hook 0.22
MPH Loader
Demo UMD

Step one – Start Device Hook and select GTALC. Ensure demo UMD is in slot but door is open.

Step two – When you’re PSP has restarted, run MPH.

Step three – As the music is nearing it’s end on the reboot, shut the door and you will hear the disc spin. The game should then start

Don’t worry if the game doesn’t load, it’s all about the timing.

Also bear in mind a full ISO is 800+ so at least 1gig is required for the memory stick.

I personally have a memory stick set just for GTA.

As for “pirating’ the games, I buy the original of any game I will use, but I will try an ISO beforehand.

As said earlier, if the games are at a price which makes them disposable, then no need to copy, but like others have said, there are better things to spend Â£40 on than a shite game with a pretty cover.

If a game is Â£10 and crap, live and learn. If a game is Â£40 and crap people become disillunsioned and will eventually stop using their PSP altogether.

Would Sony not be better off me buying 50 games at Â£10 than 10 at Â£40 and getting that pissed I put my PSP away or bin it.

This is bad for all of us, no mass market and the minor market becomes screwed.

UMD films are also over priced, same cost as a DVD, which more than one can watch and in my case on 42″ inch of Sony or a little screen with headphones.

Again the minor market will suffer.

I am an avid Sony brand follower and all my entertainment devices are Sony, so where is the thank you from Sony for my custom.

It comes in the shape of snazzy marketing making me want something even more than I do and believe me, if Sony bring something new out, I get.

Add to this a feeling of disillusionment and there becomes a chance that one day I’ll leave the brand.

It also looks like I am not the only one out there a little pissed and the Sony money train.

Forget if ISO’s are bad, forget if firmware upgrades make your games obsolete. We should all join in and petition Sony for fairness in costs and also be thanking them for some truly fantastic gadgetry.

If a consumer forum and Sony got together, then surely it could be sorted, or that money train may just stop.

Sony listen to your consumers.

Consumers tell your manufacurers.

I know how to aswell. you can run any v2.0+ game on umd or mem.stick as long as u have a firmware version tricker(get 1 from sonyxteam.com) and start any games thru fastloader 0.7. I tried this with both a umd and the iso dump from the game(nfsmost wanted 510) and it worked no problemo.

Do you really know how much it costs to make a PSP? approx. $150, including production charges salaries, management, and the parts. Sony sell tht PSP’s at a rock bottom price (compare to a PC at similar specs, and notice the similar price, but the difference in size), to sell out their console. Then they get their money back from selling games at extraordinary prices. I can understand why people ISO, but do you not see why Sony doesn’t want to just stop piracy, but Homebrew altogether? If someone can happily buy a PSP and run homebrew and old console emulators on it for ever, and end up buying no games, that’s Sony’s profit out the window. They’re not in it for producing kick ass games or machines, they’re in it for profit. And homebrew slows them down. That’s their fault though, and creating the possibility of homebrew in the first place has just landed them in deep water. But who cares? We aren’t Sony, so we need not worry about their profits. We worry about us, and we just got a console that can run anything under the moon, even Quake2 now.

Though game piracy? I don’t like it much. I always feel better owning the game if I can. I admit to piracy myself, but I would always buy the game eventually if I like it. All we have to do is wait for a complete 2.00 firmware load. Dunno how long it will take, but it’s all we can wait for.

omg…. you have to be kidding. I spent Â£400 buying myself a PSP with all the bits as at the time (short supply) that was the only package they would sell to me.

I have since spent Â£35 quid on Burnout which i will admit is probably in the top three games for the PSP. I bought Coded Arms…. what a peice of shit
Then I spent Â£33 quid on Starwars Battlefront 2 for the ps2 after being forced to buy a second ps2 (well it is three years old). I have nearly 90 games for the Ps2 and am pleased I bought about 15 of them. The others were impulse or clever marketing reasons for parting with the cash.
I DONT MIND SPENDING THE Â£Â£Â£Â£
BUT…. FFS especially with the PSP some of these games are the same price as the PS2 versions but with less features and a damn site less playable.
So I have downgraded and I use iso’s as well. I’m glad i have 30 PSP titles that I didn’t pay for. I’m glad I have Starwars Battle front 2 on my psp’s memory stick. I’m glad my psp is playing internet radio as we speak while i am loading The Con onto the memory stick.
What I am trying to say is that i don’t have a problem spending my money if it’s deserved. I cant play GTALCS. I would happily buy the game at the full Â£39.99 but I would have to give up the freedom of v1.5 and homebrew just to play one game. Fuck that. Sony i’m not taking the piss, just asking for value for money.

People here in Peru always play the “hacked” copies of the games in PSP or PSP2… they simply either use a soft disc, or the most entreprenurial a chip which makes this possible.

So, if this new copy protections turns out to be the norm, I’m sure someone, somewhere (perhaps even from within Sony) will create the “NEW” version and sell it all over the globe, making a bundle…
