The RSS Team at Microsoft is in the process of finalizing the icon used to show that a page has an RSS feed in IE7. They have narrowed it down to 5 choices and are looking for user feedback before making the final decision.
The choice of what icon to use is challenging because it should be universally symbolic, but today there is no single icon for that represents feed. Instead thereâs a variety of mostly orange rectangles with the words âXMLâ, âRSSâ, âATOMâ, âFEEDâ, or âSubscribe.â
Our goal is to make sure that the icon is something that is understandable by all of our users: novice, advanced, developer, business, international, etc.
So what are you waiting for. Let ‘em know what you think.

2I don’t really think this should be a poll. I think they should ask a large number of random people what they think each symbol suggests and then make their choice regarding what each one said.
But hey, it’s Microsoft so whatever they throw at the public they’re sure they’ll chew it, whether they like it or not so I guess a poll is good enough, coming from them.
