Microsoft’s Halo Movie Made with Linux

Universal Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox have annouced that Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will act as executive producers for Halo The Movie. Halo the movie will be based on the famous Xbox game of course. The best thing is that Halo movie will be produced in Wellington, New Zeland on servers running open-source Linux operating system.
Weta Digital uses more than 1k dual-processor IBM Blade servers running Fedora Linux from Red Hat.

Let’s not forget that Halo started out as a cross-platform Mac/PC game created by a company (Bungie) with deep roots in the Mac gaming community.

I agree gates brought out good game but a movie. never saw that one coming. lol. the only poit i saw to halo was poeple going around shooting sniping and hunting others down, or playing it on line if you think you are good enough. i know i wont play online for some time now. so please let me know abut this so caeld movie if u can e-mail me at naturefreak2005@yahoo.com

Yes, Halo the movie. I really like Peter Jackson’s work and I think he will make this movie a great one (although he is not directing), considering Halo CE had a great plot to adapt to a movie. The one thing I don’t like is that on G4’s Attack of the Show, it was announced that DENZEL WASHINGTON would play Master Chief- What the F***? In the Game, Master Chief is obviosly not a black guy(judging by voice) Don’t get me wrong, Denzel is a great actor, but he would be more suited to playing the black marine commander in the movie. Reguardless, i will be seening the movie when it comes to a theater near me.
