New Hotmail Screenshots

Paul Thurrott has some screenshots up of the new MSN Mail/Hotmail beta. If you have ever used Outlook Web Access, it has that sort of feel to it. Very “Outlook-ish”, with a folder lits, then message list, then the preview/read pane.

“Kahuna is the rebirth of Web mail,” Doerr told me. “It’s enabled by a recent tipping point in the use of more modern browsers that support DHTML and XML. A lot of users need to be at Internet Explorer (IE) 5.5 or above or equivalent to take advantage of these features. In the last year or so, that’s happened. So we’re going to start deploying these technologies.”

Thanks, but I will keep my Gmail.

Nice but that banner ad in the side really killed it for me. I will stick to Gmail. Looking forward to the new Yahoo interface.

It’ll really take something to get me away from Gmail. Every time I’ve ever created a Hotmail account it started getting spam without ever telling anyone about the account. My gmail accounts that only I know about never get spam.
