Think Secret is reporting that on Wednesday, October 12, Apple will deliver new Pro machines, and new iPods. The iPods will not be able to do video playback, however. The iPods will get a storage boost to 80 gigabytes. Because of the popularity of the black iPod nano, many expect them to also release a black iPod (5th generation). The video iPod is not being released yet, because Apple has no service for delivering content for it.

As for the Apple Pro machines (these include the Powerbook and the Power Mac), the Powerbooks should be getting fairly minor bumps in processor speeds, and the 15″ and 17″ Powerbooks should have higher resolution displays. At least one of the Powermacs will be using IBM’s PowerPC 970MP. Both the Powerbooks and the Powermacs should begin using DDR2 memory.
