ok,, here,
i have cracked it…
just follow the steps…

go to http://www.psphackers.com then download the update to 2.50 then download kazaa (a program) and type in ”downgrade psp” then click on the download witht the arabic writing…

thats wot i did it works perfect…..lol….there had to be someone to work it out….i guess it was me!!!!!

Sony suck

1. Are they that dumb that they think its not gonna be cracked within a few months. Only puttin a 256 bit encription.

2. All it is now is a fancy mp3 player, most ppls videos dont even work.

3. Sony get billions of dollars a year, i cant believe they are crying over this.

4. Sony just do what everyone wants you to do and let it become compatible with homebrew ffs, its gonna happen eventually, ur just makin ppl h8 u even more. No restrictions on x-box 360, i was gonna get a ps3, but 4get that, im getin an x-box360 instead

I’ve got version 2.01 pre-installed too, but reading everyones comments about Sony’s actions is making me piss my pants. Seriously, hilarious…

Anyway, quick question, do you guys think if I have 2.01, I may aswell upgrade to 2.60? Or should I wait for 2.01 to be hacked??

well mine is version 2.0 and no matter how many times i try and downgrade the screen just friggin freezes when i open the photo folder. I can never get the black and white writing. if i try to downgrade it just says ‘you already have version 2.00, no need to downgrade.’ i bought 8DVDs full of games and a 512k memory card all to watch movies i already have!

I have the same troubles with the V2.01 firmware.
But to convert movies into the .mp4 extention i use the PSP Max Media Manager.
It works fine and makes a 850mb file into a 200mb file (Â±) , so even the people who have a small memstick can play it.
Just look it up in any p-to-p program , like bearshare orso.
In stores it costs about 20 dollars , so worth the troubl looking up.

And about the ‘unable to downgrade problem’ , we just have to be patient untill someone finds the little ‘bugger’ and bypass it.
There are many people working on that , some even 24/7 , respect for those people!
And i hope you guys find a way to get it working , without having to ‘kill’ alot of PSP’s.

Hi all, for those people who have 2.01+ and want music videos and movies on your psp, goto http://www.psp-hacks.com and download the program “jMEnc”. It will let you take any music video and convert it into the MP4 format you need to play vidoes (it also does the AVC MPEG format for those who have 2.01 or later, use regular MP4 for 1.50) The program also has a built in DVD Ripper, first you rip the DVD then convert that file to MP4. As for the Downgrader for 2.01, yall will just have to wait for it.

I was livid too man, when I rushed out and bought some fat memory sticks and all accessories to do some home brewing. Then I found firmware 2.01 on my PSP. Sony really stitched us all. They must have conspired to get one over on us man…. Come on all you geniuses out there man, surely you can work out how to reverse this bit of engineering.

If it can be done, then there must be a way to undo!!!

Well.. I was trying out my webbrowser on my 2.01 and when I was trying to quit it the PSP crashed and it said the installation was corrupt, bla bla.. It was like when you started your PSP for the first time. Maybe it is a.. maybe you can make a downgrader that way? Or maybe it is a buffer overflow XD not that I know what it is. Well can someone check that up? The one with the browser crash. /k

if you run a 2.00 update on a 2.01 it wont be an update it would be a downgrade and surprise surprise that won’t work.(sony is not that dumb)
so next time try for yourself and you would save yourself some typing.

Just wondering, if you have a 2.01 PSP and run the 2.00 update, will your PSP then have the 2.00 firmware, thus allowing you to upgrade? Or will it just not allow you to run the updater…?

For those who needs help on playing movies on their psp. http://www.imtoo.com download ImTOO MPEG Encoder and there will be a PSP movie manager that puts your movies on the psp. Just choose pSP movie (mp4) on the list in the encoder. You also need a .thm file to watch the movies. The encoder will generate one. The program you download is only a trial. You need a serial to use it further. ^^ M4y teH f0rc3 B wi7h U! XD

I got one today and i’m in the same boat 2.01. I know someone who works for sony and the firmware coding is encrypted with AES-256Bit encryption. Bastards. He recons it wont be cracked in the near future
