Where do your blog readers come from?

Darren Rowse from Problogger submited today the result of his latest poll asking readers from where their readers came from.

I should be no surprise that most of the hits came from Search Engines, but in second place came the “I have no idea” option and only 3% from RSS files.

Here’s the graphic with the results of the poll:

  1. I get about a sizable amount of traffic to my site a month and my breakdown is drastically different. Over 50% of my traffic is from RSS readers. Only a small percentage (~2%)is from search engines, and interestingly enough, the referrers that come from search engines are almost always targeted at a set of about 10 posts. For my site, Google is by far the most popular search engine, with 65% of the pie.

I guess the reason why problogger gets so few visitors through RSS is that he doesn’t offer full feeds, not even through the feedburner service he is using (meaning it’s not a problem of traffic, but of intention).

For me, that’s TOO pro. ;)
