It looks like it won’t be long before you can choose to have an Intel or AMD processor in your Dell computer.
Dell Inc has informed its Taiwan contract makers of plans to develop devices based on Advanced Micro Devices Inc’s microprocessors… These suppliers are ready developing and arranging the logistics of such devices for shipment to Dell
Not too bad, as it will allow them to have computers to fit everyone’s tastes as some computer users prefer AMD over Intel CPU’s, and Dell probably hopes to tap into that niche of computer users by putting AMD processors in their computers. Though I must say it is a little odd since most of the “geeky” people I know, would probably avoid Dell, even with the addition of AMD CPU’s.

1You’ve got yourself a spelling mistake – “niche” not “neiche”.

Dell on Monday dismissed as ‘rumor’ a report that it has notified Taiwanese PC contract manufacturers to ready production lines to produce Dell PC systems using microprocessors made by Advanced Micro Devices.
A report in the Chinese-language Economic Daily News of Taipei said Dell has already notified major Taiwanese contract manufacturers such as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd. and Quanta Computer Inc. to prepare to begin production of desktop and notebook PCs based on AMD microprocessors.
