Apple is now including cases with iPod nanos. The cases being included are similar to the ones that are shipping with the new iPods. Apple is still, however, denying that the iPod nano is more vulnerable to scratches. This is probably in response to the class-action lawsuit that was filed towards Apple regarding the scratches that the iPods are getting. Apple is expected to ship 3-4 million iPod nanos each month until the end of December.

4They should have a black cover, but hey, at least it beats having a scratched Nano. If they had this from the start I could have bought one, perhaps in a year or so.

5Well, it’s probably just an attempt to stem the class action lawsuits against them. I don’t think current i-pod nano owners recieve them, though.
