In an interesting, yet awkward move, LG opened up a bar in Paris where you can test their latest washing machines, look at their TVs and LCDs in action, and, well, have a cup of coffee.

Where I live we don’t really have the laundries like the ones in the States where a dozen people go to and wash their clothes at the same time, but still, I can’t mix the concept of drinking coffee and relaxing, and washing dirty underwear in the same room.

In college towns laundromats make sense, because many people move every year or live in dorms. I didn’t know anyone who had washing/drying machines unless it came with the apartment.
At U of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus, there was a laundromat that’s connected to a bar. I thought it was great. It’s not like you’re gonna be driving out somewhere between the 30minute wash/dry cycles. So while you’re there, you might as well grab some beer, shoot some pool, play pinball, and/or flirt. And yes, there’s a good chance that the chicks there are going commando(too).
In Denmark we have a nice cafe called Landromat where you can wash your close while drinking coffee or eating. And it looks good fo’ sho’.
Also in the 60-70 when money were small and washing machines were expensive the combination of bar and laundry was tryed out – although with limited success. But interesting though.
In my city it seems anywhere there’s a laundromat there’s a bar next door, it’s just a good combination. You’ve got an hour or two to kill in the middle of the day, and you can stay within a vicinity of your clothes.
At college the dorms have their own laundry rooms, so you can drink and wash your clothes in the same place!
it’s better than the laudromats I used to go to!
