Microsoft has finally released a list of Xbox games that will be playable on the Xbox 360.
The good news: the list is over 200 titles long. The bad news: I don’t see NCAA 2005 Football or any of the Splinter Cell games on the list.
One special note: A software emulator is required for each original Xbox game you play on your Xbox 360⢠console. Please check back for more details as we approach the launch date.

1I just bought my 4th xbox at craigslist dirt cheap. $100 for xbox, remote, and 3 current games. As the launch date nears, I’m sure there’ll be more suckers virtually giving away their old machines thinking that xbox360 will play all their old games. Well, more power to my xbox linux cluster.

2If they made an XBox two (as the slimmer and smaller Playstation consoles) I’d probably buy one. But seeing as they don’t I have better uses for the space an XBox occupies, like a flower in a vase for example, and I’m not even a flower guy.

3You may wanna invest in a wire storage cube if space is an issue. stack them up in a single column, and it only occupies about 15″^2 of floorspace. Kickass ventilation, plenty of holes for wiring, versitile, and you can even attach extra shelves in the middle with wires if the shelves are too far apart for your needs. I’ve been using this ’system’ since my first red hat cluster of PIIs in college. With a vertical type fan blowing from behind full time, there’re no noisy minifans to bother with, and free heating during winter (and free sauna during summer).
