I would only like MP3 players that transfers files on usb connection, not using their own connector, nor their own software.

Had bitter experience with the first Creative Nomad. The player was perfectly all right but Windows no longer support the Creative software so can’t use it.

No lawsuits ahoy, Creative owns the patent on this one. Plus the old Zen interface designs were extremely similar to the iPOD, and the Zen’s have been out longer.

I LOVE CREATIVES. All my friends had ipods but got fed up with there wide selection…Three. They have two colors also. Black, White. Creatives for ever.

iPods are trash. made like crap and break so easily. i speak from experiance.

People are claiming that this new Zen is too “fat”

but it’s the exact same size as the 4G 20 gig iPod was. i heard no complaints about that.

hmm. and yes. iPod fanboys are all too common.

I just got one today. This thing is smooth, sleek and gives Apple a run for it’s money. Video support was not a problem right off the bat, it supports pretty much everything unless you are a video editor that has no idea what to encode in, like me. But even then, the codec transformation was fast, simple and there was barely any quality loss. Props to Creative for creating an astounding product. Bravo!

What people don’t realize is how intertwined Creative and Apple are. Creative came out with the first real HD based mp3 player, they own patents on the menu system that Apple uses. Heck, they even used the term “nano” before Apple.
So the iPod fools smirk at Creative when Creative applies a similar design philosphy to their new model in applying video playback. Pathetic sheep.
