The guys at PSPhacks have released a nice article explaining how you can get a PSP that is hackable, or at least downgradable.
Before you buy a PSP for that special gamer this Holiday season, you have to ask yourself one thing: do they homebrew? If the answer is yes, you better take care not to get a unit with a firmware over 2.0 â otherwise, no hackie. You can determine the firmware version by checking for a letter code above the UPC on the bottom of the box.
A-1.50
B-1.51
C-1.52
D-2.00 Unconfirmed
E-2.00 Unconfirmed (likely 1.52)

Damn it. i’m god damn ‘G’ aswell … homebrew has an enlightening future ahead of it with also been able to CONTROL YOUR HOUSE through a XB1ilx Router. Cooolll …. Maybe in the future someone will hack the psp fully … and run windows xp FULLY. Imagine the possibilites of that *drools* …. Next thing i want to see is FLASH and JAVA (Fully Supported) in the internet browser and for the LocationFree Router to DECREASE in PRICE!!!

Together with my PSP labeled letter C (firmware version 1.52) comes a demo-disc that I am instructed to boot from before doing any thing else. The disc is marked to include syste software version 2.0 and it probably opgrades my PSP. I am how ever afraid that it is actualy 2.01 and not 2.0. Is there any way of finding out what version (2.0 or 2.01) is on the demo disc. Is there allso any way of running the demo-software on the disc without being upgraded?
Lastly: are there any reason to upgrade to 2.0 if it is 2.0 and not 2.01 on the demo disc?

ino how to surf the web u need a router then u need to scan the area for your router a bunch will probly come up unless u live in the country and u choose yours and for tha pas word just type in ur phine number with area code then ur set

in the uk how do u tell the psp version before purcahse if not letter was displayed for example if the box say psp 1003k will that be a 2.0 or 2.01, 2.5

Here in the Philippines you can downgrade your PSP from 2.01 to 1.50.
