The N-Gage, for those that don’t know is a cell phone with gaming abilities made by Nokia, but the gaming abilities were lacking, and the cell phone use was a bit comprimised due to trying to make the most out of being able to game on the machine.
It looks like they won’t be making them for North America or Europe anymore though.
The story slipped in over the long holiday weekend that Nokia has officially dropped plans to manufacture new units of the N-Gage for North American and European markets. Nokia also said they would stop game development for the platform. According to a report on VNU. net, Antti Vasara, Vice President for corporate strategy at Nokia, admitted the N-Gage was a failure: “N-Gage is still being sold but it was not a success in the sense of developing a new category.” However, gaming devlopment will be folded into other devices instead of being exclusive to the N-Gage.
