While in America, the console is sold out everywhere, in Japan a few sources are reporting that only about a third of the consoles available were sold. Previously, the original XBox sold around 123,000 units. According to the Japanese Game Magazine Famitsu, 62,000 units were sold, which less than half of the previous console’s sales.

As the music says “it’s easy when you’re big in Japan”, but if this keeps up, things can get a little more complicated for Microsoft.

1Isn’t that interesting.
I wonder how much of the decline in Japan was due to a product released too fast and with bugs still rampant in some of the units? I wonder how much of it is due to the fact it is Microsoft and not so much the unit its self?

2The slow start is because of the game library… they needed the JRPG EM and DOA4 at launch.
They should have postponed for a few weeks…
