Yahoo updates widget engine


 

Konfabulator Yahoo Widgets has recently been updated which includes changes to the website as well as what the software tries to install on your computer. It even wants to change your homepage to Yahoo during the process.

Yahoo has launched a new version of its widget engine, the company’s platform for running mini desktop applications built by Yahoo or third-party developers.

Along with the release of Yahoo Widget Engine 3.0, the company also unveiled nine new applications that run on the platform, which is available in a Windows and Mac version.

The engine is offered at no charge on the company’s website.

    you know I’m getting really of sick of these programs trying to alter my computer settings. If I wanted to make yahoo my homepage, I know how to do it, and dont want some program doing it for me without my authorization.

    the new yahoo widgets engine seems to have added a yahoo link to my adobe acrobat. i wonder what else it has added without my knowledge…
