Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Available

Well, just what the title says. Microsoft has released the Beta 2 of their next Internet Explorer Browser, version 7. Evaluation of Internet Explorer 7 should start now, but the software should not be used on production systems in mission-critical environments. Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview will only run on Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) systems, but will ultimately be available for Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003. ATI Updates

ATI trims prices on HDTV Wonder, TV Wonder Elite My cousin wanted to get an ATI TV Wonder Elite card, and has been holding off and holding off, but now, finally, dropping the prices on it a bit, and most retailers should have a $20 mail-in-rebate from ATI (yes, I hate mir’s too). ATI All-In-Wonder X1900 Review Firing Squad has a review up on the AIW X1900 and while I just bought an AIW 9600XT, I am interested in how this card will perform in comparision to its slightly older brothers. In the end they give it 90%. ATI’s delivered another great product with the All-In-Wonder X1900. We wouldn’t be Read more »

Evolution of Controllers

Every now and then people like to remind themselves about the controllers they used to use. And over the years they have changed a lot. From the Square blocks and sticks of the Atari to the small and thin joypads until the bulky alien-like controllers we have today with analogue buttons, vibrating engines and voice and video activated commands. There are a lot of controllers missing on that list, but it gives you nice all-round perspective on it. You can also check out a game controller family tree if you want. Via /. Read more »

Airboard

Airboard

Ok… so this is basically a miniature hovercraft that “flies” for approximately an hour and can go up to 15 mph on a tank of 5 liters (1.3 gallon). I guess this is pretty neat, but come on engineers, where’s my flying car? Ok, I mean one that I can park near my house and not this. Via NewLaunches Read more »

XBox 360 Update Released

A system update for the XBox 360 is now available for XBox Live members. The next time you login to Live, your system will download the update. Here are some of the changes in this update: Improvements to the Xbox Guide. Option to retain your saved games when you delete a profile. Increased accuracy of “last time played.” Network configuration improvements for Xbox Live®; members in the Netherlands. More detailed messaging for unreadable disk or region errors. I wonder if this update includes backward compatibility for any XBox games. Read more »

iTrip Integrated Into MacMini

Via Make, this guy is about to take a 3000 mile road trip in his car, and wanted to get a MacMini installed. I don’t have enough money or time to replace my headunit, or buy the Radioshark. So instead I am integrating a iTrip FM transmitter directly into the Mini. Check out the process, with some pretty good details, in this Flickr Set. Read more »

Google Bookmarks

Seems like there are a lot of bookmarking sites lately. Although del.icio.us (which was recently acquired by Yahoo) seems to have a corner on the market, Google has introduced Google Bookmarks. It seems like it will just let you bookmark pages from your search results, as well as add your own. Read more »

Have a break… have a condom?

Have a break… have a condom?

It seems that Japanese people don’t have sex a lot. A study done last year showed that the average Japanese has sex around 45 times a year. In order to fight the sluggish sales they are now looking for innovative ways to draw the attention of consumers: And a chicken ramen flavoured condom package followed by a real chicken ramen package: Just make sure you leave home with the right one. Picasa x 25

For those of you that feel more comfortable looking at Greek, or Swedish, than English, Picasa, a popular image tool from Google, has added twenty-five languages to the software, making it easy for anyone that avoided the application due to its interface being in a language other than their own, able to finally give it a go. The team behind Picasa has now added 25 new interface languages: Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Tagalog, Polish, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Catalan, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
