For all of those that are still looking for a Newsvine invite without jumping through a million hoops, here is your chance. I have 5 invites to the Newsvine beta still available.
Incase you are wondering what Newsvine is, I have already done a write-up/review of it on my blog:
I was just invited to the Newsvine Beta, and let me tell you. It is pretty cool. Think of a generic news site, and add Digg functions to it. So you can push it up, and comment on the stories. The stories are both news stories that you would find on a typical news site, as well as user submitted stories.
So you just have to post your e-mail here (feel free to use [at] and [dot] so that any e-mail spammers don’t get it easily), and I will send an invite to the first five people that post their information.
Also, feel free to let us know your experiences with Newsvine if you are already a member, or once you get an invite from us here at Forever Geek.
Update: They are all gone folks, I will let you all know as soon as I get more.

6I got into Newsvine during their first big round of beta invites. I posted a few articles there (aaronrosspowell.newsvine.com, for those interested) and had a good response from the other users. The comments were mostly smart and I was quickly pushed to the front page “featured writers” list.
So I guess I’m liking it. But I plan to withhold final judgement until I see it open to the public and get a sense of how much the author pay earnings work out to be. I want to do a weekly column but if it’s not going to get much reach or isn’t going to pay much, it seems better just to do it on my own site.
Still, Newvine looks promising.

7So is your own little subdomain thing similar to the Google Personalised homepage? I don’t really understand what this is…I tried to use Digg but the amount of ‘omg this is so old’ messages from certain users is overwhelming.
But I suppose it’s worth taking an invite anyway please, I’ll offer a few of mine out here in case some people don’t get the rest of yours. Do you get the 20 invites straight away or have to wait a few weeks?
Thanks :)

10And then there were 2.
Your subdomain allows you to show off stories you have submitted, as at some point this might make the people submitting stories some $$$ through advertising revenue or something. It will be used as an incentive to submit stories, especially quality stories.

11And donoho takes one, leaving 1 left up for grabs people.
Get them before Newsvine is flooded with garbage like Digg sometimes is…

12Well, as an early impression let me say I’m a bit impressed with the site’s AJAX and some other functionalities such as the portrait resizer / area picker.
It does indeed look very promising.
