It seems that Japanese people don’t have sex a lot. A study done last year showed that the average Japanese has sex around 45 times a year.
In order to fight the sluggish sales they are now looking for innovative ways to draw the attention of consumers:

This post is interesting to me because I lived in Japan for 10 years and speak the language. My experience has been quite the opposite–the Japanese are $#@*& little buggers. You can find “love hotels” all over the place in the larger cities.
