McZonk announced today that the first beta of his Quake 2 compilation for PSP would be released in 3 days. I have big hopes for this project, even though it’s an old game, if he makes a good enough engine and gets wifi multiplayer to work this could very well become the PSP’s greatest game. And the best part is that it’s free (at least for now).

Features:
• Simple test level
• All weapons (including bfg, hint: give all)
• All items: Quad Damage, etc
• Different monsters
• Full configurable button layout
• Load and Save (little bit buggy)

Missing:

• Lightmaps
• Sound and background music
• Multiplayer
• Mod support
