First of all, this doesn’t mean a downgrader is out and please don’t ask if there is one out or when it is coming out. When and if it does, we’ll post the news here.

Fanjita has released the first 2.50 game that takes advantage of the GTA save game exploit. Of course there are still limitations. You have to have GTA, 2.01+ firmware and any version except the German one for it to work.

According to Fanjita, the release for the 2.60 firmware isn’t too far off also.

These are definitely good news, but still, I can’t help but to feel sad that Sony spits on one of the PSP’s best features and the community that supports it. More and more it’s harder for people to exploit their device.

I only have one PSP, but if I have to choose between homebrew and games, I’ll have to go with homebrew. So I can do great things such as watching DivX movies, play on emulators or use one of the hundreds of homebrew applications and games that are out, like the upcoming Quake 2 game.

Which is a shame for Sony, because they’re missing out on proffit from potential buyers of software.
