In case you don’t know, Xooglers is blog maintained by two former Google workers and they write some interesting and sometimes funny articles about their experience in working with Google.
(Among those, they have one about funny things one of them remembered saying during his first year at Google like this one: âTheyâre laying the carpet tomorrow? I kinda like it open and industrial like this. Cubicles? You really think weâll need that many workplaces?â)
What happened was that Google contacted them to talk about their blog. Even though the author isn’t very worried (it should just be to clearly state what company secrets or details he shouldn’t talk about), could this be the turning point for Google where they stop being so nice and “open” to the public and become more sensitive to what is said about them?
I guess only time will tell, but personally, I’d be disappointed if it was.

Innocenty till proven guilty. Google is contacting ex-staff about posting of their work experience – I would have done the same. (and the UPDATE on the blog itself validates that).
Nothing wrong with Google taking some PR counter measures. I mean who in their right minds would WANT people to talk about stuff they shouldn’t be. Google is not perfect.
Seems there’s been a little more ‘backlash’ to Google actions lately. I wonder how delicately they’re going to handle this situation, considering how endeared they are with the geek community up to this point.
But lots of people are predicting the downfall of google this year…from the media’s little darling to dark and evil M$ empire. Everything is over hyped so much.
Hey there.. How do i subscribe to your blog?
Didn’t Google fire a guy a few months ago because he blogged about them? Compare to that, this is nothing. And no, this does not make them evil. You talk bad about boss, boss fires you. Someone talks about you, you have a talk with him to make sure he doesn’t spill any of your secrets. It’s normal.
