Sniff Out Wifi HotSpots with your PSP

Jean-Yves Lamoureux has released the latest version of his software that allows you to find any Wifi-Networks nearby and also gives various details about them like Mac Address and SSID. Sure, it’s a bit bigger than the pocket-sized ones that sell on some geek sites, but I guess it’s another nice way to make use of your PSP. Read more »

Trojan targets basic Java phones

Looks like even your Smart Phone, or cell phone might not be safe from viruses or trojans, as one has been released called RedBrowser and it can cost you a fair bit of real money. RedBrowser-A infects not only smart phones, but any mobile phone capable of running Java (J2ME) applications, according to Russian anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab. The mobile malware poses as a program called RedBrowser that supposedly allows surfers to visit WAP sites without using a WAP connection. According to the blurb, this access is possible by sending and receiving free SMS messages. In reality, the Trojan sends text messages to premium rate numbers, costing users between $5 Read more »

Apple Introduces iPod Hi-Fi, Intel Mac Mini

At Apple’s special media event today in Cupertino, two new products were announced. The first is the iPod Hi-Fi, pictured above. Fill your home with sound, not stereo components. For $349, iPod Hi-Fi delivers crystal-clear, audiophile-quality sound in a clean, compact design. Hear, hear. The second announcement was that of an Intel Core Duo Mac Mini. This was expected, although rumors were also circulating that it would include some DVR software, which it does not. Live the digital life in stylish simplicity — up to four times faster. Microsoft's Answer to RAZR

Microsoft's Answer to RAZR

Gizmag showed yesterday what perhaps is Microsoft’s (or i-mate’s) answer to the popular Motorola phone. Well, personally, I don’t think they are beating the RAZR in design yet. Angel Sanctuary Manga Review (Vols 1-4)

Angel Sanctuary Manga Review (Vols 1-4)

It’s been a while since there was any Anime (or manga) news on ForeverGeek so I decided to bring a review of my latest acquisitions. Before buying these volumes I had already seen the anime OVA a few years ago (wow, it’s already been 6 years) and enjoyed it a lot. Angel Sanctuary is basically the story of the struggle between Angels and Demons (hold the cliche thoughts) and two twin Angels which are the strongest of all below Adam and God. But it happens that one of those twins is reincarnated in the body of a young teenager named Setsuna. It also happens that he is in love with Read more »

Real DS Lite Comparison Pictures

Real DS Lite Comparison Pictures

After the few (but generally convincing) fakes that appeared after the DS Lite was announced the Magic Box brought out a few days ago some pictures of a real model and compared it to a DS and a GBA SP. Now, onto the pictures: And finally one of the console being played… Damn it’s so pretty, did Apple design this? (this is a rhetorical question) Read more »

So Apple is holding a special event on Tuesday, February 28 in Cupertino. It is an invite-only affair for the press, and the rumor mill has already started churning as to what they could be releasing. Questions – Camino, Conversation, and NetNewsWire

I’ve been talking to some Mac developers recently, regarding mostly universal binaries but also features. I recently got a new iMac (Core Duo) and I’ve been trying to find out when the UBs will be coming. 1st Question: Camino (asked in IRC: irc.mozilla.org #camino) Is there going to be RSS Detection for Camino any time soon? Yes, it’s planned for version 1.1 (After this question everybody started complaining that they get this question 30 times a day.) 2nd Question: Conversation Can we expect to see a universal binary any time soon? I am currently working on Conversation 3, and I expect to release it as a universal binary. The developments Read more »
