I remember once in an IRC channel a long long time ago someone bragging about his (really horrible) homepage that had been made entirely using notepad.

Upon checking the sorce, I remember the first line being in the likes of:

I don’t think FrontPage was *that* bad. For noobs who’re familar with MS interface and nothing else, there is probably nothing easier than FrontPage.

When my dad wanted to make a web page, I recommended Dreamweaver on WYSIWYG interface(without html). He gave up on it and went with his friend’s copy of FrontPage. It turned out to be a nested-tables hell that made blood stream out of my eyes when I saw the source. But he couldn’t have created that fugliness without FrontPage.
