If you’re a Windows user (like me unfortunately) you’ve probably felt upset one or two times when a Mac user mentions an application that adds sheer loads of functionality to their system but is a Mac application only. Thankfully, those times are slowly ending as more and more companies release Windows programs inspired by Mac’s counterparts.
The latest program to get the Windows treatment is Quicksilver, which goes by the name AppRocket and was built by Candy Labs. What this program allows you to do is basically search for a lot of information on your PC or on the internet in a very quick way.
So if you happen to use both platforms or want to try and add more functionality to Windows give it a shot, I have and don’t regret it one bit, a 5 stars application, and it only costs $18 USD.

2You really got my hopes up when I came across this on Google. AppRocket is nice, but not nearly as good as QuickSilver. There is a lot of functionality that just isn’t available on AR that’s built in (or available in a plug in for) QS.
Also, the current version (1.2) of AR came out a couple of years ago, and hasn’t been updated since. Not that I’m trashing AppRocket too much, it’s a pretty nice program and certainly better than nothing.
I’m definitely going to check out Launchy, as mentioned by Jeff King in the comment above.

4Have you tried PC-Com? It’s loaded with features very similar to QuickSilver. You can activate it with a hotkey and open programs or web pages, search websites, shut down/log off your computer, and it even has a macro system for automation. Definitely worth checking out, http://www.boletrice.com/pccom
