ThinkSecret is confirming rumors that Apple is nearing completion of a revamped Video iPod. This new version will remove the clickwheel in favor of a touch screen interface.
This video iPod, which has been in development and on the table since before Apple released the 5G iPod last year with video playback, will feature a display that will occupy the entire front face of the device. Sources who have seen the device report that it features a digital click wheel, one that overlays the touch-sensitive display and appears when a finger touches it and disappears when the finger is removed.
Speaking of Apple, Amazon has some great deals on Apple harware right now.

1I’ve seen this article before, and the pictures of what it will supposedly be like but for me, honestly, what makes the iPod unique is it’s “real” clickwheel.
I know they will substitute it for a “virtual” one, but it’s not quite the same thing. It’s a great way to fit more screen space in the unit but I hope they will keep at least one model of their iPod line with the “original” clickwheel.
