A japanese company called Kokuyo has released a new PCMCIA card which should help prevent laptop some laptop thefts. Basically, it does the same thing a car does when you try to steal it, it screams, really loud, when it senses that the laptop is being moved.

Though I can predict a few situations in which this wouldn’t be a good thing to have plugged to your laptop, at all.

1Can’t the thief just eject the PC Card? I’d rather go for a Kensington-type lock.
