Not happy about all the CPU cycles that Dashboard is using? I honestly only use dashboard once in a blue moon. Here is an app that will disable it and free up the memory and CPU that it is using up.
Bye Bye Dashboard is a free utility to easily and painlessly remove the Dashboard. Tests show that the Dashboard uses a siginificant amount of CPU power even when not in use. It has also shown to use a large ammount of internet bandwith. Also in a corporate enviroment the Dahsboard could be come a distration to employees. Thus Bye Bye Dashboard is made.

Too bad … he’s hosting the file on GeoCities, and has exceeded his bandwidth for the day. Someone get this guy a host!
“Tests show that the Dashboard uses a siginificant amount of CPU power even when not in use. It has also shown to use a large ammount of internet bandwith.”
Neither of these claims are true. It’s possible that improperly programmed widgets use CPU while hidden, but no widgets are supposed to. If you want to have a technical reason to dislike Dashboard, you might be able to make a case against the system memory usage of widgets while hidden.
The easiest way to get rid of Dashboard is not to download some silly uninstaller software, but to remove it from the Keyboard Shortcuts in the System Preferences so you don’t activate it by accident. Widgets get loaded when Dashboard is activated for the first time.
