"Tests show that the Dashboard uses a siginificant amount of CPU power even when not in use. It has also shown to use a large ammount of internet bandwith."

Neither of these claims are true. It's possible that improperly programmed widgets use CPU while hidden, but no widgets are supposed to. If you want to have a technical reason to dislike Dashboard, you might be able to make a case against the system memory usage of widgets while hidden.

The easiest way to get rid of Dashboard is not to download some silly uninstaller software, but to remove it from the Keyboard Shortcuts in the System Preferences so you don't activate it by accident. Widgets get loaded when Dashboard is activated for the first time.
